POSITION SUMMARY:
The Social Media & Partnerships Intern supports the Communications team by assisting with social media execution, content development, community engagement, and partnership initiatives for both SASSO and client brands. This role provides hands-on experience across organic social media strategy, content creation, influencer and partnership outreach, campaign execution, and audience engagement while working alongside an integrated marketing team.
This role will actively support SASSO's social media presence while also assisting with partnership outreach and relationship development for select client companies. This position offers the opportunity to gain practical experience in social media strategy, content planning, campaign execution, creator and partnership marketing, and performance measurement in a collaborative agency environment.
The ideal candidate is organized, curious, proactive, eager to learn, and passionate about social media, digital marketing, communications, and brand storytelling.
Education and Experience:
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Digital Media, Business, or a related field.
  • Previous internship, campus organization leadership, student media, athletics, or social media experience is preferred but not required.
  • Interest in social media marketing, influencer marketing, partnerships, brand strategy, or communications.

Technical Skills:
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Familiarity with major social media platforms including Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, and YouTube.
  • Basic understanding of content creation, social media trends, and audience engagement.
  • Experience using Canva, CapCut, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar creative tools is a plus.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
  • Comfortable learning new marketing platforms, AI tools, and collaboration software.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Social Media Support
  • Assist with planning, scheduling, and publishing content across SASSO's social media platforms.
  • Help create written, visual, and short-form content that supports agency marketing initiatives.
  • Assist in maintaining content calendars and supporting day-to-day social media activity.
  • Monitor social media channels and help engage with audiences in a timely and brand-appropriate manner.
  • Research trends, emerging platforms, and content ideas that support audience growth.

Partnership & Outreach Support
  • Support partnership outreach efforts for select sports-related client companies by researching potential athletes, creators, organizations, and brand partners.
  • Assist with outreach communications, follow-up, and relationship tracking.
  • Help organize partnership opportunities, contact information, and campaign activities.
  • Support ongoing relationship-building with partners and collaborators.

Campaign Support
  • Collaborate with Communications, Creative, Strategy, and Account teams on campaigns and promotional initiatives.
  • Assist with content organization, campaign preparation, and marketing projects.
  • Support content production, events, and other agency initiatives as needed.

Measurement & Reporting
  • Track social media engagement and basic performance metrics.
  • Help identify opportunities to improve audience growth and engagement.
  • Research competitors, industry trends, and emerging best practices.
  • Assist with reporting and performance summaries.

COMMITMENT:
  • Approximately 10-20 hours per week
  • Hybrid position based in Baton Rouge, Louisiana
  • Preferred commitment through December 2026
  • Opportunity to continue through May 2027 based on performance and mutual interest
