Position Summary

The National Strategic Account Manager is responsible for supporting the growth and management of Professional Plastics' national, multi-location, and international strategic accounts. This position serves as a key liaison between customers, sales, purchasing, operations, vendors, and branch locations to ensure exceptional customer service, seamless order execution, and profitable growth. Working directly with the Director of Engineering Materials and Fabricated Parts, this individual will help drive strategic growth initiatives, manage key customer relationships, coordinate complex projects, identify new business opportunities, and support international business development. This is a performance-driven position with a competitive base salary plus commission designed to reward both operational excellence and revenue growth.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Manage national, multi-location, and strategic customer accounts throughout North America.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key customers while identifying opportunities to increase sales and profitability.
  • Coordinate large customer projects involving multiple Professional Plastics branches, suppliers, and manufacturing locations.
  • Process quotations, purchase orders, order acknowledgments, and customer requests while ensuring timely execution.
  • Work closely with Purchasing, Operations, Inventory Management, and branch personnel.
  • Support strategic initiatives established by the Director of Engineering Materials and Fabricated Parts.
  • Prospect new strategic customers and market opportunities using Seamless.AI, CRM tools, industry research, and other business intelligence resources.
  • Develop targeted growth within Data Centers, OEM Manufacturing, Food Processing, Semiconductor, Fabrication, Industrial Manufacturing, and other strategic markets.
  • Prepare pipeline reports, sales analysis, market research, and business development updates.
  • Support national trade shows, customer visits, and industry events.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records.
  • Coordinate projects involving fabricated parts, engineered materials, and value-added manufacturing.
  • Assist with pricing coordination, inventory planning, and supplier communication.
  • Work directly with international customers and suppliers while supporting North American customers with global operations.
  • Coordinate business activities involving customers with operations both internationally and within North America.
  • Identify opportunities to expand existing customer relationships into additional locations, business units, and international markets.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience.
  • 3–5 years of experience in account management, strategic sales, project management, customer service, or industrial distribution.
  • Experience managing national or multi-location accounts preferred.
  • Experience in industrial manufacturing, engineered plastics, fabrication, or related industries preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong organizational, communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, CRM software, and ERP systems.
  • Self-motivated with a strong desire to grow strategic accounts and develop new business.
Travel

Occasional for trade shows or to visit key account holders.
