Who are we hiring?

The Manager, Business Solutions will support in the creation and management of platforms, inventory, and new asset ideation across the MSG Sports properties, including New York Knicks, New York Rangers and Westchester Knicks. This position will also support sales strategy/platform development across the team(s) digital channels/products.

The Manager, Business Solutions will work closely with the Director – Business Solutions, VP – Marketing Partnership Sales and Team Property Leads to define the strategic sales plan around each of the teams. This role will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to support the creation of Team platforms for prospective partners (new business) and current partners (upsells and renewals) through: ongoing communications with league (NHL/NBA/G-League) contacts, team relationships, MSG Network relationships, research (identify industry leaders, best practices, emerging technologies), platform development (idea generation, team marketing collaboration and proposal construction), rate card creation (pricing/P&L development), internal vetting (Division approvals), creative presentations (write sales deck outlines, collaborate with design team to bring vision to life) and inventory management. Efforts will be focused on all team inventory and strategies designed to maximize revenue streams for individual properties and the organization globally.

What will you do?
  • Maintain direct relationship with key stakeholders across the MSG Sports marketing team to ensure Business Solutions is aware of all Team initiatives
  • Develop and maintain deep knowledge of all Team properties and assets/rights
  • Contribute to Team platform development and creation of all sales materials related to Team Properties
  • Support partnership development process from brainstorm through account management transition, working closely with sales and account management and internal/external stakeholders, including league contacts
  • Liaise with sales and account management to understand partner/prospect needs/objectives to create new/customized integrated and compelling Team platforms
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal/external stakeholders and key league (NHL/NBA) contacts and industry relationships
  • Fully understand MSG Networks platforms, potential cross platform opportunities and develop working relationship with MSG Network stakeholders
  • Proactively identify new assets and build creative turnkey platforms to generate new revenue opportunities
  • Consistent management and contributions to rate card, pricing and P&L development
  • Together with Sales Coordinators, manage sales materials ranging from upfronts and evergreens to full decks and compressed 1-pagers
  • Help manage available inventory, track sold inventory, deadlines, property assets, designations and promotional rights granted by MSG
  • Collaborate with account management to develop case studies across properties and industries
  • Participate in sales presentations, as needed.
  • Provide exceptional experiences for our guests, partners, and team members, including by adhering to our appearance and presentation guidelines while on-site.
What do you need to succeed?
  • Education: BA/BS Degree in related field; MBA preferred
  • 4-8 years’ experience in strategic marketing/partnership sales roles; a strong candidate for the role should have knowledge of the marketing and advertising industries with a particular focus on the sports and entertainment industry
  • Passion for the sports and entertainment space, maintaining knowledge of sports/entertainment trends
  • Demonstrated exceptional project management skills to drive the process with the ability to create partnerships (vet and price, develop P&L and execute platforms); create sales material outlines, and develop strategy
  • This position requires an experienced thinker with strong writing, organizational, analytical and presentation skills, with the ability to simultaneously understand Divisional and Client objectives
  • Demonstrated experience and success working with a broad cross section of functional teams. The individual must be able to deal professionally with all levels of people including internal senior management, sales professionals, and marketing executives across the organization.
  • Strong work ethic with ability to function independently while managing upwards to keep supervisor informed
  • Proven ability to excel while multitasking in fast paced environment
  • Excellent time management with ability to plan, organize and prioritize work to deliver exceptional product while hitting deadlines
