About the Role
The Learning & Development (L&D) Lead is responsible for leading the site's L&D team and driving the site's learning, training, and development strategy in partnership with plant and functional leaders. The L&D Lead will serve as an internal consultant and professional resource to management and supervision in recommending, coordinating, and facilitating internal and external learning activities and the development of education materials and courses. The L&D Lead will ensure training programs are conducted in a safe and environmentally responsible manner in compliance with company policy. This position is part of the Human Resources department reporting directly to the Human Resources Manager, and is responsible for leading, developing, and managing six direct reports.
The successful candidate will be expected to:
  • Set clear goals, priorities, and development plans for the local L&D team, fostering collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Lead the development and execution of the L&D strategy, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities and workforce capability needs.
  • Maintain confidentiality and support confidential HR initiatives.
  • Develop and execute L&D strategies aligned with business goals.
  • Partner with HR and business leaders to support talent, leadership, and workforce development.
  • Design, facilitate, implement, and evaluate learning programs, curricula, and training materials.
  • Ensures compliance with global L&D standards, governance, and regulatory requirements.
  • Customize learning solutions to meet business and departmental needs.
  • Manage learning systems, records, training matrices, and training calendars.
  • Monitor learning effectiveness through analytics, audits, and reporting.
  • Provide coaching and development support to leaders and employees.
  • Oversee mandatory, compliance, quality, and safety training programs.
  • Manage L&D budget and optimize resources to achieve business objectives.
  • Oversee site learning initiatives, including internship and workforce development programs.
  • Drive innovation by identifying and implementing emerging learning technologies.
  • Monitor industry trends and drive continuous improvement in learning and development practices.
  • Consistently demonstrate Tronox Core Values.

About You
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Education, Business Administration, Industrial Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in Learning & Development, Training, Human Resources, Organizational Development, or a related discipline, preferably within a manufacturing, industrial, mining, chemical, or process environment.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of leadership experience managing training, learning, or workforce development programs.
  • Equivalent combinations of education and relevant experience may be considered.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Excellent presentation, facilitation, coaching, and communication skills.
  • Ability to build effective partnerships and influence leaders across all levels of the organization.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Power BI.
  • Experience utilizing HRIS, Learning Management Systems (LMS), and digital learning technologies to administer, track, and evaluate training programs.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and exceptional human relations skills are required.
  • Experience with SharePoint, e-learning platforms, SAP, ISO 9001 training systems, and learning analytics tools is preferred.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
  • MX or above on most recent evaluation, with no active corrective action documentation in the past year

Physical Requirements
  • Must have no facial hair that interferes with the sealing surface of a respirator which would include hair below the top lip (such as beards, goatees, or excessive sideburns.)
  • Occasionally ascending or descending stairs, ramps, etc. and moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments.
  • Occasionally required to motor vehicles or heavy equipment
  • Occasionally walking long distances from one worksite to another and working in outdoor weather conditions
  • Occasionally lifting or moving objects up to 50 or more pounds in all directions
  • Constantly remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
  • Occasionally working in low and high temperatures, precipitation, wind, noisy environments.
