Scope of Position
The Product Manager is responsible for defining the product line strategy, developing roadmap, and product requirements for the assigned product line (s). Acts as the voice of the customer [VoC] to deliver business case, value and growth. In a matrix organization, bridge business strategy, user experience, and technology, collaborating with engineering, manufacturing, quality and marketing. Lead product development from ideation through launch and lifecycle management using the New Product Development tools and stage gate process.
To be successful in PM role, the person needs to thrive at the intersection of user needs, business objectives, and cross-functional execution. This individual would need to be inquisitive and be able to work through uncertainty. A successful candidate will form a close partnership with sales, independent representatives and other business teams.
This position reports to the Sr. Product Manager. This role is onsite and is based in North Andover, MA.
Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Accountable for the development and execution of long-term product life cycle in a manufacturing environment.
  • Manage assigned projects while partnering with cross functional teams. Previous experience with project management will be helpful.
  • Visit end users and specifiers to collect market intelligence and perform analysis to identify market needs, uncover and validate user problems, adjusting product priorities as needed.
  • Accountable for growth and profitability of Product Line(s). Metrics to include orders volume, sales and Profitability for given Product Line(s). Use metrics and KPIs to track product performance and guide decisions
  • Responsible for adherence to product line base cost targets to ensure fit with overall global plan while ensuring investments in technology, marketing, etc. are adequate to accomplish product line goals
  • Accountable for the development and execution of New Product Development launch [NPD] plans, including but not limited to coordination of internal and external resources, investment budgets, marketing campaigns/ content, and sales plans
  • Responsible for major reviews including Business Plans, Strategy Plan, Annual Operating Plan, and other periodic estimates that are required by the business. Inputs will include financial projections (orders, sales and profitability by product line) and specific commitments for growth from commercial programs and NPI launches
  • Works with sales and marketing team to develop/improve product line go to market strategy and ensure sufficient and effective sales resource and channel partner strategy/management
  • Understands market need, trends and competitor intelligence for the given Product Line(s). Design, develop, track, and update competitive intelligence and market penetration database
  • Works with Sourcing to create a secure an efficient supply chain for "system" delivery
  • Builds the mid-term strategy in terms of priorities, partnerships and business development
  • Creates and/ or supports the creation of training materials and lead training sessions to educate customers and Watts sales personnel on product technical features and benefits - Travel is required to support training activities

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree, Engineering/Marketing degree or similar
  • 5+ years of related Product Management ideally within target markets relating to the specific product line with proven successful track record
  • Proven success in developing and implementing both strategic and financial business plans
  • Proven leadership ability to lead virtual teams and work across a matrix organization
  • Sales Channel and or Management experience
  • Relevant engineering experience
  • Must have strong influencing skills
  • Must possess excellent presentation and communication skills
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills with an emphasis on building strong team relationships
  • Proactive, creative work style and a self-starter
  • Willingness to travel at least 25%, as required
  • Knowledge of analytical tools such as PowerBI, Tableau, SAP is required. Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office suite) is required
  • Understanding and experience in Stage Gate process preferred

Working Conditions:
While performing the job duties, you will be working in an office environment. You will be required to work in the office at the North Andover, MA location three days per week (Monday - Wednesday) and can work remotely two days per week (Thursday and Friday).
Physical Requirements: Specific physical abilities required for this position include, but are not limited to:
  • Ability to remain seated at a desk or workstation for extended periods.
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks like typing on a keyboard or using a mouse for extended periods.
  • Ability to physically move around the office, organize or transport files, packages, or other office-related materials.

The expected salary range for this position is $120,000-$140,000 yearly. Actual compensation will be dependent upon individual skills, experience, qualifications, and applicable law.
