Hiring Salary: $3,946.70 - $5,322.69/Monthly 

JOB SUMMARY/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:  Under the direction of the Director of the Rural Health Center of Excellence (COE) and in conjunction with the campus Communications and Marketing Department, the Communications and Marketing Coordinator is responsible for the development of the COE's marketing and communications strategies, sets direction for the marketing goals of the COE and oversees external and intra-professional communications for the COE. This position establishes and coordinates relationships through communication and digital strategies. Manages the COE website and listservs.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:  

EDUCATION: Associate's Degree. Bachelor's Degree preferred. (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED)  

EXPERIENCE: Two (2) years of experience in mass communications and/or marketing, or related field; OR Bachelor's Degree in lieu of experience; OR combination of education and experience to equal four (4) years.

WORK SCHEDULE: This position may occasionally be required to work weekends and evenings. May require occasional overnight travel. 

  1. Establishes the COE's marketing and communication goals that support the mission of the center.
  2. Defines objectives, determines the efficacy of tactics, reports on the effectiveness of strategies, and works to ensure the success of marketing and communication strategies. 
  3. Leads the development of the COE's marketing plan and oversees the execution of marketing and communication strategies to support the COE's mission and goals.
  4. Collaborates with UT Health Sciences Office of Communications and Marketing for assistance, support, and approval with UT Health Sciences branding, design, campus communications and marketing, social media, website and photography/videography needs.
  5. Conceptualizes and co-creates the COE's annual report to highlight the COE's achievements.
  6. Develops, produces, and presents a variety of reports - from executive summaries to program reports.
  7. Creates press releases and works with external media to share news of the COE.
  8. Completes special projects assigned by the PI. 
  9. Conducts market evaluation to present to COE team items to include as resources within the COE and events of potential engagement for further the mission of the COE.
  10. Perform other duties as assigned.
