Position Overview

The Vice President, Strategic Communications, will work with the leader of the Strategic Communications team as well as other Consello leaders to launch the practice into Consello. The role will help support clients in a range of industries on critical matters spanning various topics. Importantly, the individual will need to have a strong foundation of baseline corporate communications skills, but more so, have excellent media sensibility, networking capability and interest. The role requires someone with their ear to the ground to know where executives and companies should be showing up to land their messages, across earned, owned and paid channels. It is important to keep pulse on what media is writing, what new online platforms are gaining influence, and what new podcast, video, social, speaking initiatives and influencers are launching that would suit the aspirations of Consello clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute communications strategies for Fortune 500 C-Suite clients and companies on matters including M&A, IPOs, earnings, crisis and issues, event engagement, leadership profiles, and broader reputation.
  • Manage ongoing insight on and relationships with media and other online and offline engagement platforms to ensure we have real-time knowledge so that we can secure strategic opportunities across earned, owned and paid media for Consello clients.
  • Display entrepreneurship, hustle and leadership needed to build a team in the US as well as global coordination, including how the team will convene, perspective we will have and content we will produce etc.
  • Willingness to work alongside team members who do not come from a communications background but complement communications with expertise in equity research, banking, marketing etc.
  • Separate from client advisory work, collaborate closely with the Consello marketing team to support their efforts to establish thought leadership of Consello and its executives in an authentic way through various platforms.
Role Specifics
  • This position reports to the Senior Managing Director, Strategic Communications
  • Requires close collaboration across all Consello teams as clients all across the business will require communications advisory.
  • Expect daily interactions with highly accomplished individuals, demanding clarity, agility, and the ability to adapt and optimize strategies quickly.

Qualifications
  • Proven track record in Corporate Communications, with demonstrable success in elevating corporate profiles online and offline across owned, earned and paid.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a knack for persuasive and clear messaging.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with meticulous attention to detail in demanding and fast-paced timeframes.
  • Strong network of contacts and the ability to forge new connections as needed in the media and client landscape.
  • Experience at a communications agency or media organization a plus.
  • Global sensibility is helpful.
