Strategic Communications Specialist, Senior

The Opportunity:

As a Strategic Communications Specialist on our team, you'll develop creative solutions to complex problems. Your selfguided yet collaborative spirit will shape and nurture relationships with team members, stakeholders, and clients to advance organizational goals, support military operations, and strengthen understanding across varied audiences. You will translate technical and operational concepts into clear, compelling narratives that resonate with internal and external stakeholders.

On our team, you will develop and implement communication strategies that support Combatant Command (CCMD) public affairs objectives during operations, exercises, and theater outreach activities. You will contribute to public affairs planning, media operations, and message development across multiple channels, ensuring all products follow government approval processes. You will monitor the information environment, analyze media reporting, and apply quantitative and qualitative methods to evaluate trends, sentiment, and narrative evolution. You will deliver highquality media products on approved platforms, support engagement preparation for leadership, and ensure seamless knowledge transfer during transitions. Your work will help enhance transparency, strengthen mission understanding, and support decision advantage across the operational landscape.

You Have:

  • Experience in public affairs, media relations, or digital communications

  • Experience developing and implementing communication strategies, message frameworks, or public outreach plans

  • Experience conducting media monitoring, environmental analysis, or assessment of the information environment

  • Experience producing media products, including written content, visuals, or digital media for approved public channels

  • Knowledge of DoW or Military Service public affairs processes, media operations, and communication planning

  • Ability to translate technical or operational concepts into accessible, compelling messaging

  • Ability to collaborate with crossfunctional teams to support public affairs activities during operations and exercises

  • TS/SCI clearance

  • Bachelor's degree and 14+ years of experience in strategic communications, or Master's degree and 10+ years of experience in strategic communications


Nice If You Have:

  • Experience conducting media sentiment analysis, narrative tracking, or datadriven communication assessments

  • Experience at the CCMD or Military Service level

  • Knowledge of quantitative and qualitative analytical methods used to evaluate communication impact and media trends

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $112,800.00 to $257,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
