This is an opportunity for an ECC associate doctor who enjoys fast-paced emergency medicine, collaborative case management, and working closely with a broad team of specialists, experienced emergency clinicians, skilled nurses, interns, and residents.
At CCVS, you will be part of a hospital where collaboration, learning, and strong medicine are part of the daily rhythm. Our team values respect, compassion, accountability, trust, integrity, and professionalism, and we are looking for doctors who want to practice high-quality medicine in a supportive, team-centered environment.
About this Role

Our hospital includes more than 20 specialists across eight specialties, giving our ECC doctors access to a strong referral and specialty network within the hospital. This creates an excellent environment for doctors who value collaboration, advanced case discussions, and the opportunity to continue growing clinically.
In this position, you will also have the opportunity to support the education and development of interns, residents, and nursing team members. Education is an important part of CCVS, with rotating and ECC internship programs, an ECC residency program, in-house technician training, and continuing education opportunities woven into our culture.
What You'll Do
  • Triage, stabilize, and manage emergency and urgent care cases
  • Develop diagnostic and treatment plans for a wide range of emergency presentations
  • Collaborate with specialists, emergency clinicians, interns, residents, and nursing teams
  • Provide clear, compassionate communication to clients throughout the patient care process
  • Work with referring veterinarians to support continuity of care
  • Maintain accurate and timely medical records
  • Help create a positive, respectful, and team-oriented work environment
  • Support teaching and mentorship for interns, residents, and clinical team members
  • Practice comprehensive, high-quality medicine in a busy emergency and specialty hospital
  • Contribute to a culture built on collaboration, professionalism, compassion, and continuous learning
What We're Looking For
  • DVM, VMD, or equivalent degree
  • Ability to obtain veterinary licensure in Massachusetts prior to starting
  • Internship training or experience in an emergency setting required
  • Ability to remain calm, focused, and effective in high-pressure situations
  • Strong critical thinking and clinical decision-making skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Commitment to client communication, patient care, and teamwork
  • Interest in teaching, mentoring, and supporting the development of others
  • A positive, flexible approach and genuine interest in working as part of a team
Schedule and Compensation
This is a full-time position with a 4-day work week. The schedule may include days, swing shifts, overnights, weekends, and holidays as needed to support high-quality care in a busy emergency environment.
Compensation ranges from $160,000 to $215,000 annually, commensurate with experience, schedule, and qualifications, plus eligibility in a pooled production bonus program.
A generous sign-on bonus and relocation assistance are available.
Support and Resources
CCVS has invested in a strong clinical support structure so our doctors can focus on patient care, client communication, and case management. Our support team includes:
  • More than 60 veterinary technicians, including licensed and VTS technicians, support high-quality emergency and specialty care
  • Veterinary assistants and client liaisons
  • Doctors' Assistants for medical record support
  • Experienced emergency clinicians, specialists, interns, and residents
Full-time benefits include:
  • Paid PTO and holidays
  • Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance options
  • Company-sponsored Employee Assistance Program
  • Generous Continuing Education Program
  • AVMA Professional Liability Insurance Trust coverage provided
  • Reimbursement for Massachusetts veterinary license, DEA license, MVMA and other dues
  • AVMA dues and VIN provided
  • Online publisher access, including Sage, Wiley, and Elsevier
