The Senior Account Executive (SAE) is the strategic and commercial relationship leader for a named portfolio of Tech Impactโ€™s most important MSP customers. The SAE builds trusted relationships with executive leaders and decision makers, learns each organizationโ€™s mission, programs, operating priorities, risks, and growth goals, and connects those needs to practical technology strategies and Tech Impact solutions. This is not a routine account-service or ticket-escalation role. A Junior Account Manager provides day-to-day account and customer services; the SAE leads business-level discovery, strategic planning, opportunity development, and the customerโ€™s journey through complex buying decisions.

What you will do
  • Build multi-threaded relationships with CEOs, COOs, CFOs, technology leaders, program leaders, and other decision makers across the assigned portfolio.
  • Lead structured business discovery to understand mission outcomes, program delivery, workforce needs, funding and budget constraints, operational bottlenecks, risk tolerance, and change readiness.
  • Create and maintain strategic account plans, stakeholder maps, client-health views, and 12โ€“18 month technology roadmaps with clear priorities, budgets, owners, and next decisions.
  • Lead executive business reviews that connect service performance, cybersecurity risk, asset lifecycle, data, automation, AI, and technology investments to organizational outcomes.
  • Identify, qualify, and nurture expansion opportunities; develop a value case; coordinate technical discovery; and lead opportunities through proposal, decision, and close.
  • Partner with cybersecurity, MSP operations, Help Desk, technical projects, data/automation/AI, digital services, finance, and marketing to bring the right expertise to each client conversation.
  • Work in close partnership with the Junior AM, maintaining clear ownership while ensuring a consistent, well-documented customer experience.
  • Monitor account risk and renewal readiness, coordinate recovery plans, maintain an accurate forecast and CRM record, and escalations early.
  • Represent Tech Impact onsite and at nonprofit/customer events; use in-person engagement for discovery, executive alignment, planning, and key decisions.
  • Bring portfolio insight back to Tech Impact to improve packaging, positioning, adoption, and delivery of strategic services.
What success looks like
  • Decision-maker and executive relationships are active across the VIP portfolio.
  • Clients have current, actionable technology roadmaps tied to mission and business priorities.
  • Executive reviews produce documented decisions, owners, dates, and funded next steps.
  • Qualified pipeline and profitable expansion grow across security, lifecycle/replacement, data, automation, AI, and technical projects.
  • Retention risks are surfaced early and addressed through coordinated action.
  • Forecasts, account plans, stakeholder maps, and opportunity records are complete and reliable.
Required qualifications
  • 5+ years in strategic account management, consultative technology sales, vCIO/client strategy, or customer success within an MSP, MSSP, IT services, cloud, cybersecurity, or related environment.
  • Demonstrated success engaging executives, uncovering organizational needs, building business cases, and leading complex expansion opportunities.
  • Strong working knowledge of managed IT, cybersecurity, cloud/productivity platforms, technology lifecycle planning, and technology project delivery.
  • Ability to discuss data, workflow automation, and AI opportunities credibly, while bringing in specialists for solution architecture and delivery validation.
  • Excellent discovery, facilitation, presentation, writing, negotiation, and follow-through skills.
  • Experience collaborating across sales, service delivery, technical, security, finance, and leadership teams.
  • Willingness and ability to travel for customer meetings and events.
Preferred qualifications
  • Experience working with nonprofit organizations or demonstrated fluency in mission-driven operating environments.
  • Experience with Kaseya and/or an MSP PSA/CRM, QBR, roadmap, or account-planning platform.
  • Relevant technical, cloud, cybersecurity, project, or consultative-sales certifications.
  • Experience selling or advising on data strategy, automation, AI adoption, cybersecurity maturity, and technology replacement planning.
Role boundaries

The SAE does not own Help Desk delivery, routine ticket escalation, billing administration, scheduling, standard service reporting, or day-to-day account requests. The SAE remains aware of those issues when they affect trust, retention, executive communication, or commercial strategy and partners with the Junior AM and service owners to address them.
