We are seeking a Manager of Decision Support & Cost Accounting to join Huron's Healthcare Financial Advisory services practice. In this role, you will lead the design and delivery of cost accounting and service line margin engagements for hospitals and health systems, often leveraging the StrataJazz Decision Support platform.

You will apply various costing methodologies including Time-Driven Costing (TDABC) and step-down methodologies to build service line P&Ls, DRG-level cost models, and contribution margin frameworks that healthcare CFOs can act on. Beyond platform configuration, you will connect cost intelligence directly to high-stakes client decisions - payor contract preparation, service line rationalization, capital prioritization, and care variation reduction.

You will play an integral role in our decision support offering, partner with project and relationship leaders in client interactions with CFO and VP Finance stakeholders, and contribute to the development of reusable engagement playbooks and delivery templates.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in healthcare finance consulting or healthcare provider finance, with direct responsibility for decision support, cost accounting, or service line financial analytics

  • 2-3 years of hands-on experience with StrataJazz Decision Support or a comparable healthcare EPM / cost accounting platform, including direct involvement in model configuration, validation, and analysis

  • Demonstrated experience building and delivering service line margin analyses, service line P&Ls, or DRG-level cost models using step-down allocation methodologies; Time-Driven Costing (TDABC) experience strongly preferred

  • Proven ability to lead consulting engagements or major workstreams, including scope management, timeline management, quality control, and day-to-day client communication

  • Experience translating complex cost and margin analyses into clear, decision-ready insights for finance leaders (Director, VP Finance, CFO audiences)

  • Strong consulting toolkit, including client-ready deliverables, executive presentations, and financial models

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, with comfort working in detail-intensive financial models and summarizing findings for senior stakeholders

  • Demonstrated ability to coach and develop junior team members, providing technical guidance, review, and feedback

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Healthcare Administration, or a related field; advanced degree or CPA/MBA a plus

  • Highly self-directed, analytically rigorous, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced consulting environment

Travel & Home Location

  • Travel requirements vary by project; candidates must be willing to travel up to 80% on a weekly basis

  • Candidates may reside anywhere in the contiguous United States near a major airport

The estimated base salary range for this job is $165,000 - $215,000. The range represents a good faith estimate of the range that Huron reasonably expects to pay for this job at the time of the job posting. The actual salary paid to an individual will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to specific skills or certifications, years of experience, market changes, and required travel. This job is also eligible to participate in Huron's annual incentive compensation program, which reflects Huron's pay for performance philosophy. Inclusive of annual incentive compensation opportunity, the total estimated compensation range for this job is $189,750 - $268,750. The job is also eligible to participate in Huron's benefit plans which include medical, dental and vision coverage and other wellness programs. The salary range information provided is in accordance with applicable state and local laws regarding salary transparency that are currently in effect and may be implemented in the future.
