Job description

Full-time Remote, USA Apply before Oct 31, 2026

Keplaris is a New York product engineering studio, founded in 2025 and remote-first across the US. We build our own SaaS products — Tether — and we build for clients: Shopify storefronts, WordPress and custom web, APIs, and automation systems. Because we run our own software in production, we hold client work to a product company's standard, not an agency's.

Our mission is simple: ship software that works, keeps working, and makes money for the people who use it. In e-commerce that means storefronts that load fast, convert visitors, and don't fall over on launch day.

We're a small team of engineers and designers who own whole projects. There's no account-manager telephone game here — the person building the store is in the room with the client and the designer.

This role exists because our Shopify work is growing and we refuse to grow it sloppily. You'll be the developer who makes our storefronts fast, maintainable, and built to sell — and who raises the bar for what clients expect from a Shopify build.

What we look for
  • Theme craftsmanship. You build custom Liquid themes from scratch — clean sections, sensible schema settings, and templates a merchant can actually use without calling you every week.
  • Headless fluency. You've worked with the Storefront API and headless builds (Hydrogen or a custom front end) and you know when headless is the right call — and when it's expensive theater.
  • Conversion instinct. You treat the storefront as a sales machine, not a brochure. You sweat product pages, cart flow, and checkout friction because that's where the money is.
  • Performance discipline. You profile before you guess, keep Core Web Vitals green, and know what every third-party script costs the merchant in speed and revenue.
  • Integration depth. You connect apps, metafields, and external APIs cleanly — and when an off-the-shelf app isn't good enough, you build the integration yourself.
  • Client presence. You can walk a merchant through a technical decision in plain English and leave them more confident, not more confused.
What you'll do
  • Build custom Shopify themes and headless storefronts end to end — from design handoff to launch and beyond.
  • Own storefront performance: audits, fixes, and the discipline to keep fast sites fast after launch.
  • Design and build app and API integrations — ERP, fulfillment, marketing tools, and custom middleware where needed.
  • Work directly with our product designer on conversion-focused page architecture, then ship it pixel-accurate.
  • Shape our Shopify practice: reusable section libraries, build standards, and the playbook for every store we ship.
What we offer

A remote-first US team, competitive pay, and real ownership of the work — you build the store, you launch the store, you take the credit. Because Keplaris runs its own products alongside client work, you'll work with engineers who think about uptime and data, not just templates. Small team, direct access to founders, and a quality bar that makes the work worth putting your name on.
