Job description

Overview

The Territory Service Manager directs all branch service personnel. Responsible for all service operations within assigned branch, and maintaining all branch quality to corporate standards. Works within established policies, procedures, practices, and regulations. Responsible for operational performance of all service partners in assigned territory.

Base salary offers for this position may vary based on factors such as location, skills, and relevant experience. Some positions may include additional compensation in the form of bonus, equity, or commissions. 

Responsibilities

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.

  • Maintain good working relationships with lift truck dealers and assigned service partners.
  • Manage Service Department to ensure service calls are dispatched and closed with contractual service level agreements, keep customers informed of the status of repair work.
  • Ensure all hazardous materials are handled, transported, stored, and disposed of per DOT and EPA regulations.
  • Monitor expense items to ensure minimal expenditure.
  • Achieve service targets as assigned.
  • Provide technical assistance to foster increased sales. Provide technical support to all branches and service providers in assigned territory.
  • Train technicians in the performance of all facets of repair work per company guidelines.
  • Partner with sales teams to help generate additional product and service sales.
  • Serve as backup to Service Technicians to perform Battery and Charger service calls.
  • Responsible for implementation of inventory controls and adhering to policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for ensuring vehicles, including commercials, are operating within all federal, state, local and corporate guidelines.
  • Maintain warehouse to the company's health, safety, and SOP standards.
  • Additional responsibilities as neededto support the team and company goals. 
Qualifications

Education, Experience, Certifications:

  • High school diploma, general education degree (GED), bachelor's degree preferred
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of service management experience. 
  • Knowledge of Industrial Batteries and Chargers and/or Material Handling market a plus.

Competencies, Skills, Knowledge:

  • Critical thinking and good troubleshooting technique.
  • Good organization/administrative and time management skills.
  • Ability to train techs on skills and knowledge required.
  • Ability to communicate with multiple levels of customer/dealers/management on business related issues.
  • Knowledge in spreadsheets (Excel) and work processing (Microsoft Word).
  • Strong technical aptitude.
  • High energy, self-motivation, ability to be successful without direct supervision.

Work Environment:

  • This position requires you to be on site at our Kansas City, MO location with the Service Technicians..
  • Occasional travel may be necessary to fulfill business needs and support various projects and initiatives.
