Position Overviewย 

Food World Plus is seeking an experienced and dynamic Retail Operations Manager to lead operations for our 176,000 sq. ft. high-volume grocery store. This role is responsible for overseeing all grocery retail functions including fresh departments, center store, front-end operations, inventory control, staffing, and financial performance.ย 

The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong grocery retail experience who can drive operational excellence, maximize profitability, and deliver an outstanding shopping experience.ย 

ย Key Responsibilitiesย 

  • Oversee daily operations of all grocery departments including Produce, Meat, Dairy, Deli, Bakery, Frozen, Dry Grocery, Non-Food, and Front-Endย 

  • Lead and manage department managers and a large team (100+ employees)ย 

  • Drive sales growth, gross margin, and overall store profitabilityย 

  • Monitor shrink, waste control, and inventory turnoverย 

  • Ensure food safety, sanitation, and compliance with all regulatory standardsย 

  • Develop staffing plans, scheduling, and labor cost control strategiesย 

  • Maintain high merchandising standards and promotional executionย 

  • Analyze sales reports, KPIs, and financial data to improve performanceย 

  • Build strong relationships with vendors and negotiate purchasing agreementsย 

  • Resolve customer concerns and ensure exceptional customer service standardsย 

  • Implement operational improvements to enhance efficiency and productivityย 

ย Qualificationsย 

  • 5+ years of senior management experience in a high-volume grocery storeย 

  • Experience managing large-format grocery operations (100,000+ sq. ft. preferred)ย 

  • Strong understanding of fresh departments and food safety regulationsย 

  • Proven leadership and team development experienceย 

  • Strong financial, budgeting, and inventory management skillsย 

  • Experience with grocery POS systems and retail softwareย 

  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skillsย
