Are you an experienced retail leader who knows how to build a strong team, drive performance, and keep a busy store running efficiently? Do you lead from the sales floor rather than from an office?

This is a hands-on, working management position. You will be actively involved in the business every day-leading employees, developing talent, driving sales and productivity, maintaining operational standards, and ensuring our customers receive an exceptional experience.
This is a full-time position requiring 45+ hours per week, based on the needs of the business. Management schedules will vary according to staffing levels, store operations, and business demands.
Schedule Flexibility Required
Candidates must be available to work a varied retail management schedule, including:
  • Days and evenings
  • Weekends
  • Holidays as required
  • Opening and closing shifts
What You'll Do
  • Partner with the General Manager to oversee the daily operations and overall performance of the store.
  • Lead by example on the sales floor and create a welcoming, service-focused environment for every customer.
  • Recruit, interview, hire, onboard, train, develop, and supervise store employees.
  • Ensure new employees receive effective training and understand company policies, procedures, customer service standards, and job expectations.
  • Strategically schedule and position employees to maximize productivity, customer service, and sales performance.
  • Set clear performance expectations, delegate responsibilities, and follow up to ensure assignments and goals are completed.
  • Coach and develop employees to improve customer service, selling skills, product knowledge, productivity, and overall performance.
  • Hold employees accountable while maintaining a positive, respectful, and productive work environment.
  • Address performance concerns through coaching, counseling, documentation, and disciplinary action in partnership with Human Resources.
  • Resolve employee and customer concerns professionally, fairly, and efficiently.
  • Ensure company policies, procedures, safety requirements, and operational standards are consistently followed.
  • Assist with opening and closing procedures, cash handling, merchandising, inventory, stockroom operations, and other store responsibilities as needed.
  • Maintain a visible leadership presence throughout the store and provide employees with direction, support, and feedback throughout each shift.
  • Monitor store performance and identify opportunities to improve sales, productivity, staffing, and operational efficiency.
What We're Looking For
  • Minimum of 3 years of retail management experience, preferably in a supervisory, assistant management, or operations management role.
  • Proven experience leading, coaching, training, and developing employees.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to hold employees accountable while maintaining positive working relationships.
  • Ability to delegate effectively, prioritize responsibilities, and follow through.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution abilities.
  • Sound judgment and the ability to make timely decisions in a fast-paced retail environment.
  • Strong business acumen and an understanding of sales, productivity, profitability, staffing, and operational performance.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while also functioning effectively as part of a management team.
  • Proven ability to build positive relationships with customers, employees, management, and company leadership.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
What We Offer
We believe great leaders should have the opportunity to grow, make an impact, and be rewarded for their contributions.
Our benefits include:
  • Competitive pay
  • Monthly and quarterly bonus opportunities
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • Company-paid life insurance
  • Paid time off
  • 401(k)/retirement program
  • Generous employee discount
  • Free pair of boots upon hire
  • Company-provided uniform
  • Employee recognition programs
  • Training and professional development
  • Career growth opportunities
  • Employee referral program
Ready to Lead?
If you are an experienced retail leader who enjoys developing people, solving problems, driving results, and being actively involved in the day-to-day operation of a business, we want to hear from you!
Join Boot Factory Outlet and help us build a team, drive performance, and create an exceptional customer experience at Opry Mills Mall.
