Management Trainee
Hours: Monday - Friday 7:00 am - 5:00 pm and Saturday 8:00 am - 4:00 pm
Position Summary: Monday - Friday 7:00 am - 5:00 pm and Saturday 8:00 am - 4:00 pm. The Management Training Program is designed to hire college graduates looking for a fulfilling career with a growing company in the paint industry. The program aims to train new hires in all aspects of the paint business: operation, management, purchasing, customer service, as well as gaining knowledge of all paint products and protective coatings.
Job Responsibilities:
• Assisting the store manager with achieving sales goals by controlling expenses, determining inventory levels needed, and growing net contribution
• Establish a strong knowledge of company products
• Assist the store manager with recruiting, onboarding, and training of staff
• Open and close the store
• Assist customers over the phone and in the store with questions and orders regarding architectural, commercial, and industrial paint products and coating materials
• Prepare orders by mixing/ tinting paint to customer's specifications
• Accurately identify and match paint colors
• Accurately process cash and credit card transactions while properly maintaining a cash drawer
• Occasionally make deliveries to customers safely and efficiently using a company vehicle
• Load and unload the delivery vehicle as needed
• Provide a high level of customer service, ensuring that customers are satisfied with the products and services
• Ensure customer issues are quickly and efficiently resolved
• Miscellaneous tasks around the paint store such as stocking, cleaning, etc.
• Other duties as assigned by management

  • Basic computer, math, and cash handling / cashiering skills
  • Frequently able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, climb stairs, lift, reach, grip, move product for store or customer needs
  • Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds of product occasionally.
  • Able to and willing to relocate, if necessary
  • Degree preferred (in progress is okay) or previous management experience preferred
  • Commitment to ethical behavior and willingness to adhere to company policies
  • Valid Driver's License

This job requires standing, stooping, kneeling, bending, walking, reaching overhead, gripping, squatting, and carrying the product to and from the delivery and customer vehicles as well as to areas within the store.
