Title: Regional Manager

Reports to: Director of Field Operations

Location: Chicago, IL; Columbus, OH; Northern California

Travel: Up to 50%

*Must reside within an hour of a BRS Service Center.

The Regional Manager oversees all operations for a region of service centers, ensuring operational excellence, profitability, and adherence to company standards. This leadership role focuses on guiding, training, and developing mid-level management teams, supporting workforce planning, and fostering strong client relationships. This position requires a "hands-on" leader who actively collaborates with the Leadership Team to drive strategic initiatives, ensure safety compliance, and maximize regional performance.

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Achieve Core Division revenue and profitability targets.

  • Achieve Core Division key metrics targets.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee all operations for a region of service centers.
  • Guide, train and develop mid-level management teams and supervisors including but not limited to general managers and project managers. 

  • Prepare service center performance reports and present them to the Director of Field Operations.  

  • Understanding of annual budget, re-projections and monthly projections; able to operate under budget guidelines which includes reviewing Profit and Loss statements with supervisor to ensure best practices are being met. 

  • Organize and implement training programs for staff within the region and ensure utilization. 

  • Routinely visit service centers, active and inactive malls, and other applicable construction sites to ensure best practices are being met and efficiently delivered. 

  • Hold service centers accountable for safety, health and business regulations per applicable laws. 

  • Collaborate with the Business Development and Marketing teams as needed to plan events, corporate rollouts or other tasks related to Business Development. 

  • Ensure efficiencies are known and prioritized to maximize company profits at each service center within the region. 

  • Collaborates and reviews plans with General Managers and Project Managers on large or technical projects to ensure best practices are met. 

  • Perform and train on semi-skilled tasks in connection with installation, takedown and modifications of barricade and installation of graphics as needed. 

  • Oversees inventory initiatives on a large scale and works with the General Managers to ensure SOPs are being followed. 

  • Facilitates strong relationships with clients by engaging in proactive communication and exceptional customer service. 

  • Active participant on the Core Division Leadership Team, contributing to strategic planning, department collaboration and issue solving. 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversees, provides direction and accountable for business results within a region of operations locations. 

  • Supports workforce planning; balancing labor needs with an operational budget. 

  • Contributes to employee annual performance reviews, performance feedback, addressing disciplinary issues and participating in hiring decisions. 

  • Provides training, coaching and ensures team compliance with company policies and safety standards. 

  • Oversees and approves employee time cards and time-off as needed. 

  • Supports and provides guidance to new hires through the onboarding curriculum. 

  • Review and approve employee expense reports as needed.

 EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION  AND SKILLS 

  • 4 year degree in business, project management or building construction technology and/or 5+ years experience managing construction teams in the retail or commercial construction industry.  

  • Notable experience in reading construction blueprints and store elevation drawings.

  • Must be a “hands-on” leader, willing to get involved at all levels of detail in order to effectively execute plans in a timely manner. 

  • Must be an effective team builder, able to bring out the best in people through example with a proven ability to attract, retain and grow high caliber talent. 

  • An understanding of small company cultures in order to embrace and demonstrate core purpose and values.

  • Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with multiple levels in the organization including C-Suite. 

  • Effective customer relationship management skills.

  • Demonstrated good business acumen and decision-making skills. 

  • Possess a valid driver’s license from state of residence and a clean driving record per company standards. 

  •  Aptitude for learning and adopting new internal software systems, with a strong commitment to mastering company-standard tools (e.g., Google Workspace, BRIX, NetSuite).

  • Proficiency in GoogleWorkspace is a plus.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Able to properly manage time, stay organized and exercise problem solving skills. 

  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects with urgent deadlines and flexible priorities. 

  • Willing to take instruction, follow company standard operating procedures, utilize good judgment to make sound decisions.

  • Location: Must be located in Northern California, Chicago, IL or Columbus, OH and also must be located within an hour of a company service center location.

  • Travel: Up to 50% travel, including multi-state overnight travel as needed. 

  • Hours of work: Standard business hours with required schedule flexibility, including nights, weekends, and overnight travel to address operational issues or project demands

  • Work environment: This position will take place in a combination of various job sites, our service center and in the vehicle, on the road. The employee will be regularly exposed to moving equipment, moderate to loud noise levels, and varying temperatures depending on the work environment of that shift.  

  • Physicality: This position demands consistent physical activity throughout the shift. Employees must be able to stand, walk, kneel, crouch, sit, bend, push, and lift or carry up to 125 lbs as needed. The role also requires the ability to climb ladders, work safely at heights exceeding 16 feet, and operate standard construction equipment. Strong verbal, auditory, and visual capabilities are essential to ensure effective communication and a safe working environment. Ability to drive long distances or sit in a company provided vehicle is also a requirement for this position.
