Scope of the Role
  • Promote company culture, values and principles as well as participate in company functions.
  • Ensures that all operations comply with current Good Manufacturing Procedures, reviews Standard Operating Procedure changes for all plant operations, and monitors training and enforcement to ensure SOPs are followed.
  • Drive continuous improvement in Safety, Quality and Productivity related losses utilizing problem solving tools/methodologies along with operational expertise.
  • Monitor key performance indicators in accordance with the Operations Excellence/Work System Practices and encourage close teamwork between all functions (Engineering, Safety, Asset Reliability, Quality Organizationโ€ฆetc.) to close gaps.
  • Develop individual training and development plans for direct and indirect team reports that maximize the team resources.
  • Root Cause Failure for losses based on economic evaluation. Utilize critical thinking: use of logic, reasoning, and calculations to identify alternative solutions, conclusions, and approaches to solve problems at hand.
  • Responsible for recruiting, hiring, performance evaluation, attendance/payroll, succession planning and recognition program to attract and retain talent.
  • Drive Conformance to Work System processes with plant personnel through partnership and education.
  • Ensure the implementation of all repairs/modifications resulting from gap assessments, plant audits, notifications, and loss improvement activities.
  • Participates in capacity or budget planning, gathers, and evaluates information, and makes and presents recommendations to the plant manager or other management staff.
Experience Required
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in business, management, engineering, or a related discipline combined with 10+ years of manufacturing experience.
  • Must have FDA Experience and must have Union experience.
  • Infant formula experience is ideal, must minimally have food experience.
  • Must have Continuous Improvement Knowledge (5S, Kaizen, Standard Work, TPM, RCA).
  • Knowledge of cGMPs and experience supervising in pharmaceutical/nutritional operations.
  • Firsthand experience in managing infant nutritional manufacturing operations or management experience managing processing spray drying facilities.
  • Sound judgment and good decision-making skills.
  • Demonstrated strong leadership skills, including well-developed communication and problemโ€‘solving skills.
  • Good planning, analytical skills, and a thorough understanding of manufacturing, packaging and/or warehousing processes.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including strong listening skills and presentation skills are required.
  • Ability to provide work direction across multiple production areas and shifts.
  • Ability to manage in highโ€‘pressure environments.
