Store Manager

Section 1 – Overview:
Our Store Managers bring the Bull Moose experience to life by managing all store operations, driving financial success, and building great teams. Our Store Managers enjoy being able to achieve these aspirations autonomously, while leveraging our brand, expectations, and business practices.

Section 2 – Essential Functions:
  • Manage talent, inspire your team
  • Ensure that each customer receives an unforgettable experience and a custom-fit solution for their interest and hobby needs
  • Ensure the team understands the value and effectively performs Buy Backs
  • Ensure that your location meets or exceeds sales goals by overseeing all store operations with an emphasis on growing sales and managing inventory
  • Protect team members, customers, and store assets by ensuring that all team members follow safety and security rules and procedures, as well as Bull Moose policies
  • Display a strong understanding and commitment of Bull Moose’s mission and values
  • Opening, closing, and operating the retail facility. Including, but not limited to cash handling, inventory count and deposits according to Bull Moose procedures.
  • Ensure full understanding of all store communications including product information, advertising, promotions, and other marketing initiatives.
  • Has authority to take actions regarding those they supervises in the following areas: hire, transfer, suspend, layoff, recall, promote, discipline or discharge, assign, reward, responsibly to direct employees, or the authority to adjust grievances.
  • Exercises independent judgment in the performance of their supervisory duties.
  • Responsibility for oversight of all team members
  • Provide regular and continuous feedback to assigned managers on performance
  • Conducts regular documented reviews to inform compensation and promotions based on performance and readiness level of managers and other store leadership positions
  • Provides training and experiential opportunities for managers to develop and sharpen skills
Section 3 – Knowledge, Skills, Abilities (KSAs):
  • Must have a passion for driving sales and leading the business from the salesfloor
  • The ability to achieve and exceed personal sales and productivity goals, while helping team members to realize their sales potential
  • Must have well-developed leadership, communication, and team building skills
  • Ability to multi-task, coordinate, analyze, observe, make decisions, and meet deadlines in a detail-oriented manner
  • Must have the professional and emotional maturity to lead a team with positive intent, words, and behaviors, through times of change or uncertainty
  • Strong managerial skills, such as giving feedback to store associates regarding work performance on an on-going basis, recruiting, hiring, and performance management
  • Must possess a strong sense of urgency and tenacity to deliver results
  • The ability to learn new product trends, features, advantages, and benefits, in addition to the training and development of team members with regard to product knowledge
  • Must have entrepreneurial spirit and a personal accountability mindset
  • The ability to complete omni-channel orders timely and accurately in compliance with Bull Moose guidelines.

Section 5 – Education and Experience:
  • High school or equivalent
  • Part-time or full-time managerial experience
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with Bull Moose with at least 2 of those years being in supervisor roles; or equivalent experience with another retailer in a managerial position
Section 6 – Physical Requirements:
  • Perform frequent to continuous repetitive grasping, reaching and hand/arm motions while standing most or all of the shift.
  • Continuous fine finger motions such as pinching, grasping when handling money and stickering product.
  • Bending and lifting products weighing up to 15 pounds continuously, 25 pounds frequently, and 50 pounds on occasion.
  • Push or pull up to 25 pounds on occasion.
  • Climbing ladders on occasion.
  • Maneuvering around sales floor, stockroom, and behind counters with limited space
