Job responsibilities & DescriptionÂ
Store managers execute the daily operations of cleaning checklists, stocking checklists, training new hires, accountability with upselling, training and accountability with the Amazings, and leading store rushes. We believe store managers should be viewed by employees as leaders through their actions and not their title; maintaining professional boundaries while also building connections and relationships with employees. Â
Store managers should have the bandwidth to:Â
- Motivate employees to meet job expectations
- Hold employees accountable to job expectations (this includes tough conversations, verbal warnings and written warnings)
- Train and develop employees to be successful in their position as baristas
- See what needs done throughout their shift and delegate to the team to complete what's necessary
- Hold themselves accountable to company policies, expectations, and core values without being prompted by upper management.Â
- Lead a morning rush with excellence
- Ensure baristas are delivering in The Amazings
- Manage the store in the event the store manager is absent for a short or long period of time
- Manage cash logs, overages and shortagesÂ
- Handle scheduling conflicts and emergency changes
- Resolve customer complaintsÂ
- Resolve employee complaintsÂ
Assistant managers work a variety of morning and evening shifts, weekends and weekday shifts. In addition, this position will be on call in the event of an emergency at the store. Their shifts, for the most part, are the opposite as the store manager. They work 32-40 hours per week.Â
An assistant manager may also be responsible for store tasks such as:
- Bank Deposits
- Inventory (weekly or quarterly)
- Ordering (Harvest, RedBull, Dairy)
- Conducting interviews
- SchedulingÂ
- Updating store documents (COGS doc, Cash Verification, inventory, payroll, etc)
Daily responsibilities include:
- Training new hires
- Ongoing development of new and seasoned baristas
- Cleaning/stocking - delegating & holding baristas accountable to cleaning checklists
- Disciplinary Action - hold tough conversations, verbal warnings, and write ups.Â
- Shift coverage - handling shift coverages
- On call - be on call for emergency shift coverage or field phone calls
- Culture - make sure the team is upholding Scooter's Core ValuesÂ
- Complete any tasks the store manager delegates
