Position overview
The Assistant Store Leader supports the overall success of the store by driving sales, leading daily operations, developing team members, and ensuring a safe, compliant, and customer-focused environment. This role partners closely with the Store Leader to drive store sales performance, maintain operational excellence, and uphold all regulatory and safety standards.

Key responsibilities
Sales & Customer Experience:
  • Support achievement of store sales goals through exceptional customer service and team execution
  • Ensure a consistent, high-quality customer experience in both retail and range environments
  • Maintain merchandising, pricing, promotional, and visual presentation standards

Operations & Store Management:
  • Responsible for scheduling to align staffing with customer traffic and business needs
  • Responsible for daily store operations, including opening/closing procedures, cash handling, and receipts and dispositions
  • Oversee store and range facility standards, staffing, cleanliness, and functionality
  • Ensure proper use of systems including POS, inventory, and scheduling tools
  • Oversee and support range maintenance team operations

People Leadership & Development:
  • Responsible for recruiting, interviewing, and hiring top talent
  • Responsible for onboarding and training of new team members
  • Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and performance management
  • Help develop associates through goal setting and development plans

Compliance & Safety:
  • Ensure strict adherence to ATF regulations and all internal firearm handling policies
  • Maintain compliance with OSHA, EPA, and all applicable state and local regulations
  • Serve as a Safety Leader by promoting a culture of accountability and safe practices

Administrative & Execution
  • Monitor compliance with company policies, procedures, and record-keeping
  • Manage timekeeping, scheduling approvals, and attendance tracking
  • Support execution of company initiatives and operational priorities
  • Assist across all store functions as business needs require

Desired skills & experience
  • 3+ years of retail sales or leadership experience
  • Led teams of 10 or more associates
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, POS systems, and inventory management tools
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
