Job description

SUMMARY OF POSITION: This position will be responsible for executing daily and monthly tasks to maintain and improve the inventory position at Ace Hardware. Responsibilities include but are not limited to transmission and receiving of weekly Ace shipments, 3rd party shipments and maintenance of in-store inventory to ensure shelves are well stocked. Other responsibilities include participation and execution of store resets, performing inventory counts and other tasks that have direct impacts on inventory accuracy. This role will report directly to the Store Manager with inventory information and project completion status on a daily basis. This position will also communicate frequently with the store staff to improve and maintain an optimal shopping experience.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

Must have the authorization to work in this country without visa sponsorship.

Must be at least 18 years of age.

Must be available to work all scheduled hours, including evenings, some Saturdays and select holidays.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or comparable certification (e.g. GED).

Ability to retrieve material from shelves and floor stacks and lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

Ability to operate material handling equipment (e.g. hand truck, pallet jack, forklift, etc.).

Ability to operate computers effectively and communicate via the telephone.

Ability to communicate with sales staff and execute appropriate ordering/inventory maintenance.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Prior experience as a manager in a retail environment.

Bachelor's Degree in a business-related field.

Ability to perform tasks in a timely manner and think critically to accomplish more complex tasks

Demonstrated in-store competence with activities such as stocking, Point of Sale and inventory control.
