Job Description: Convenience Store Clerk
Employer: CD Okemos 10, LLC (dba Mugg&Bopps)
Department: Retail Operations
Reports To: Convenience Store Manager / Assistant Manager
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt (unless otherwise designated)
Position Summary
The Convenience Store Clerk is responsible for providing excellent customer service, operating point-of-sale systems, maintaining a clean and safe store environment, and supporting daily store operations including merchandising, stocking, and basic food/beverage preparation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Greet customers promptly and provide friendly, efficient service.
  • Operate cash register/POS, process cash/credit transactions, and issue receipts accurately.
  • Follow all age-restricted sales policies (tobacco, alcohol, lottery) and verify identification.
  • Stock shelves, coolers, and displays; rotate product and check expiration dates.
  • Maintain store cleanliness including restrooms, sales floor, and exterior areas.
  • Assist with receiving deliveries and verifying product counts.
  • Prepare and serve basic food and beverage items as needed.
  • Monitor fuel pumps and respond to customer needs at the forecourt.
  • Report safety hazards, suspicious activity, and maintenance needs to management.
  • Support promotions and merchandising standards per company guidelines.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to operate POS systems and handle cash accurately.
  • Basic math skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to follow written procedures and comply with safety standards.
  • Dependability and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Minimum Qualifications
