Job description

What We're Looking For:
Barge Design Solutions is seeking an Associate Project Manager to support our growing Mission Critical practice. This role generally serves in a technical capacity on projects but also executes project management activities under the direction of a Project Manager on single-discipline projects. This role does not have direct responsibility for projects nor does it not maintain a Barge job sheet.
Responsibilities:
  • Responsibilities include working with leadership and under the direction of a Project Manager to learn and implement proper PM procedures.
  • Collaborates with stakeholders on proposals to determine time, cost, & processes for accomplishing projects deliverables.
  • Collaborates with stakeholders to establish Project Management Plans and assemble teams
  • Executing activities to ensure that goals or objectives of projects are accomplished within defined time and established budget.
  • Functions as the technical lead on projects.
  • Reviews reports and findings. Makes recommendations for modification to project as needed.
  • Monitors budget against plan.
  • Prepares reports for management, client, or others.
  • Acts as liaison and builds relationships with client and project team participating in client meetings & leading internal project meetings.
  • Performs other duties as requested.

Education & Experience Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree from accredited program. Minimum of 4 years of relevant industry experience. Applicable certification as required by discipline.
  • Attend and participate in PM training programs.

Skills:
  • Strong technical credibility, strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage projects and deadlines.

People Skills:
  • This role indirectly leads a group of professionals technically through a project

  • Learning & applying applicable PM procedures, working closely with more tenured PM's to develop expertise.
  • Role has heavy emphasis on meeting defined budget, billing, and utilization rates. There is also significance placed on providing a technically sound project.

OTHER:
  • Walk, sit, and stand. Occasionally reach with hands, stoop, kneel, or crouch. Occasionally climb 25-30 feet. Occasionally lift up to 40 lbs. Visual acuity sufficient to read alpha/ numeric symbols for computation and design.
  • Ability to adapt quickly and effectively to project issues that arise.
