Job description

As a cashier, you are responsible for ensuring our customers have a fantastic shopping experience by providing a welcome greeting, accurately processing cash register transactions, and actively soliciting "Roundup" opportunities. The cashier exhibits customer commitment and personal effectiveness and plays a crucial role in our mission.

The Newnan retail store in Bullsboro, DR, seeks a hard-working and dedicated Retail Associate - Cashier.
Goodwill Industries of the Southern Rivers, Inc.'s Retail Associate - Cashier responsibilities:
  • Ensures that each guest receives outstanding customer service.
  • Assists customers with purchases and pricing.
  • Operated the cash register system and applied basic math skills, including, but not limited to, essential addition and subtraction of money.
  • Understand item pricing and "color of the week."
  • Maintains the appearance of the sales floor and dressing room by organizing shelves, putting away carts, and returning merchandise from the dressing room to the sales floor.
  • Asks customers to "Round-Up" totals in support of our mission and scholarship programs.
  • Meets or exceeds daily retail store goals.
  • Works other areas of the store as requested by the leadership team.

You will be hired as a Retail Associate - Cashier, however, you will be cross-trained and expected to learn and work all areas of the retail operation.
Part-time positions average 20-25 hours per week. Hours will fluctuate based on business needs (e.g., seasonal changes, donation volumes, etc.). Operating days will fluctuate based on store location. The Retail Associate Cashier must be available to work any shifts Monday through Sunday.

Requirements:
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED), required.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Prior experience working in a retail or customer service-related environment, required.
  • 1 year of Cash handling experience, preferred.
  • Warehouse experience, preferred.
