Job description

We are looking for team members who have a positive attitude and can follow the company philosophy of "The Customer Matters Most.". We are looking for team members who can maintain a calm demeanor and have a strong sense of time and accuracy. - Love of food and can present the food in an organized and neat manner within the food display area. These foods can be candies, cookies, packed food, rice pallets, or others.
- Maintaining a positive attitude and work well in a team environment. We want our associates to be the strong foundation of the department, ensure tasks get completed, and encourage customers to have an excellent shopping experience with your friendly attitude and nicely displayed food.

- Have experience in preparing food in a retail setting. We encourage our team members to not only know HOW but also know WHY it's important to help customers make good meal choices and ensure quality in our products.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES for Stockers (responsibilities include, but are not limited to:)

Organizing and stocking food display areas per store layouts, planograms, and standards
Setting up and maintaining adequate conditions of the Food Department

Ensuring food is properly handled, stocked, rotated and merchandised.

Checking temperature as well as damaged and unacceptable quality within food products.

Following established return procedures with immediate supervisor

Weighing, pricing, labelling, organizing and rotating Food products per Marukai' standards
Supporting any promotional activity within the store and contributing to an effective working environment

Breaking down pallets, separating food products for the sales floor, cooler and/or back room prep area

Processing food products

Maintaining a well-organized back stock/cooler area

Ensuring all Food products are in its rightful place, so shoppers can find what they need quickly and easily
Maintaining good communication with store management, associates, suppliers/vendors, etc.

Serving as a back-up for the Food Department's other sections and in other departments as needed

Stocking empty shelves and helping the customer service department when the line gets long

Maintaining cleanliness of the store/store upkeep

Notifying immediate supervisor when products are out of stock

Notifying immediate supervisor of price discrepancies

Must be knowledgeable of merchandise placement and location
Cleaning and sanitizing work areas

Customer Service:

Providing premier customer service, including greeting them and responding to questions

Engaging in suggestive selling and other sales techniques

Meeting or exceeding Department's sales goals as assigned through the efficient execution of Company policies and procedures

Maintaining cleanliness of work area, storage area, and selling floor

Ensuring a safe and clean work environment

Cross Training:

Store Support Associates exemplify teamwork and are open and willing to be trained, certified, and step-in when needed in all departments and similar skilled areas for filling and development opportunities.
