Salary: starting at $73,000/yr depending on experience + annual discretionary bonus

Location: Hybrid once fully trained - Monday & Friday work from home; Tuesday - Thursday in-office at our beautiful corporate office in Ladera Ranch, CA

Accountant Job Summary - HYBRID

Reporting to the Accounting Manager, our Accountants are responsible for the monthly property financial statement close process for approximately 20 self-storage properties, maintaining internal controls, treasury, and internal reporting. This is a hybrid position once fully trained: Tues thru Thurs in office; Mon & Fri work from home.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities

  • Produce journal entries, banking and account reconciliations.
  • Prepare monthly balance sheets and income statements.
  • Analyze budget and actual results to report variances.
  • Support integration of new acquisitions as needed.
  • Compile a monthly reporting package for each property.
  • Other accounting responsibilities and ad hoc projects as assigned.

Qualifications Needed

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or comparable work experience.
  • Experience with GAAP financial statements.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel Skills.
  • Must possess strong organizational, analytical, and oral & written communication skills.
  • Be detailed oriented while multi-tasking in a fast-paced company.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to change, working effectively in a demanding environment.
  • Must love diversity and work well with all personality types.
  • Takes initiative, looking for areas of improvement and possess a commitment to following through on changes.
  • Works well independently with minimal supervision.
  • Great Plains experience a plus.
