Position Summary

Perform various tasks within the warehouse operations environment, with or without using material handling equipment. This will include using material handling equipment and WMS RF equipment for processing unloading, receiving, picking, and loading. This position also requires the manual lifting of cases to build pallets and add/remove slats.

First Shift: 07:00am-3:30pm

Primary Tasks amp; Responsibilities:

  • Comply with facility food safety and defense programs as outlined in the BRCGS requirements.
  • Conduct daily inspections of the forklift or MHE to ensure its safety and ability to perform necessary operations.
  • Stamp cases for export in accordance with FDA/USDA regulations.
  • Operation of various material handling equipment. Mainly use of a ride on double pallet jack.
  • Maintain a safe and sanitary work area.
  • Operate under HACCP guidelines for the safe and secure handling of fresh and frozen proteins.
  • Pallet movement/product handling within unloading, loading, slip sheet attachment, layer pick attachment and other product movement tasks within the facility.
  • Ability to use handheld or lift mounted computers (RF) to process the workload.
  • Coordinate work with the warehouse leadership and efficiently carry out those work assignments.
  • Complete required training for license renewal as required.
  • Ability to work in a refrigerated and freezer environment with temperatures ranging from +38 to -27 degrees".
  • Comply with company policies and procedures along with all customer requirements.
  • Maintain and work in accordance with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.
  • Manually handle cases to build pallets and unload ocean containers. Ability to handle different types and weights of proteins.
  • Move product to designated staging areas for put-away, short term staging, and loading/final shipment.
  • Operation of slatting equipment and de-slatting automation.

Knowledge amp; Skill Requirements:

  • Experience with various material handling equipment such electric pallet jacks, forklifts or reach truck.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. repeatedly. Weights beyond 50 lbs. require team lift.
  • Basic reading, legible writing, and arithmetic skills required.
  • Work with sense of urgency, ability to meet deadlines, strong time management and high level of detail.
  • Effective communication skills and comfortable working independently or as a team. High level of personal communication with leadership and team members is required.
  • Follow practices and procedures based on Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point System (HACCP).
  • Follow and enforce all food safety and quality requirements.
  • Work in an atmosphere with areas +38 to below zero.
  • Maintain a high level of productivity and accuracy in a fast-paced, workflow environment.
