Job description

Position Summary: Responsible to create and implement the injury prevention program based on the population and database review. The position involves evaluation of the various aspects of injury, including understanding of the causes, mechanisms, patterns, treatments and outcomes of injury. The position has oversight of screening and brief intervention for contributing factors such as drug and alcohol abuse and behavioral health problems. Included in the responsibilities of the injury prevention program, the position is also the liaison to the Emergency Preparedness Committee (EPC). The IPC may be required to participate in public media events and written representation of the trauma program. Therefore, excellent oral and written communication skills are essential. The community outreach efforts may require evening and weekend assignments or activities with a diverse group and, therefore, flexible schedules and transportation are necessary. Some travel will be required. In addition to these injury prevention activities, the Injury Prevention Coordinator functions as a resource to clinical staff, provides education to patients and staff, participates in the performance improvement efforts of the department, and other activities that promote the goals of the department and organization.
May perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:  Associate's Degree. Demonstrated knowledge and experience with injury prevention and community outreach programs. Excellent customer service skills, strong presentation skills, and the ability to work independently and as a team member. Flexible schedules and transportation are necessary; some travel will be required. Ability to become proficient in computer software applications and platforms.
[Preferred Qualifications] LVN, SW or other healthcare related field. Bachelor's Degree or higher
CERTIFICATION: Stop the Bleed. Bilingual English/Spanish

Salary range: $$47.06 - $66.23 hourly. Salary will be commensurate with experience.
