Technical Environmental Project Manager (Wetlands/Permitting)

About the Role
Stokes Environmental is seeking a Technical Project Manager to support and execute environmental consulting projects, with a focus on wetlands, permitting, and environmental services.

What You’ll Do
- Conduct wetland delineations and stream assessments (tidal and non-tidal)
- Perform fieldwork, site visits, and environmental data collection
- Prepare and review reports, including delineations and permit applications
- Support and manage permitting efforts (ACOE, DEQ, local agencies)
- Perform CBA and threatened & endangered species studies
- Assist with restoration, mitigation, and ecological project work
- Coordinate with clients and regulatory agencies during project execution
- Help manage project schedules, budgets, and deliverables
- Collaborate with and support other staff and internal team members
What We’re Looking For
- BS or higher in environmental science, ecology, biology, environmental engineering, or related field
- 3-8 years of relevant experience (flexible based on capability)
- Experience with wetland delineations, fieldwork, and environmental data collection
- Working knowledge of environmental regulations and permitting
- Familiarity with ACOE and VA DEQ processes is a plus
- Strong communication, organization, and time management skills
- Experience in Southeast VA preferred
- Interest in or progress toward certifications
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and changing priorities
Work Environment
- Mix of field and in-person office work throughout the year (approximately 30-40% field, 60-70% office)
- Regular travel to job sites (valid driver’s license required) involving outdoor work in varied terrain and weather conditions

- Base Salary: $45,000 - $65,000 Varies based on experience, education, and skill.
