Job description

Floor/Office Time: Expectations are to be on the floor 60% + of the time daily, and 40% or less time in the office. Office time should not be done on weekends or peak sales periods.
Primary Goal: Primary goal of this position is to drive sales, manage sales staff, and customer experience.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Supervise, train and assist employees, retail associates and shift leads, in customer service, store maintenance and product promotions.
  • Social media marketing and management.
  • Regular posting on social media platforms and creating a consistent brand in marketing materials.
  • Facilitate staff development to improve customer service, productivity, and sales.
  • Assist with hiring as needed to ensure adequate personnel is on hand to provide outstanding customer experience.
  • Manage all controllable costs with a view to maintaining profitability.
  • Maintain accurate and visible signage for customers.
  • Be responsible, responsive to, and accountable to customer questions and reviews i.e. social media, google, square, email etc.
  • Problem solving and handling unusual circumstances.
  • Ensure facility cleanliness and presentations standards are maintained.
  • Prepare store and advertising displays, including product information and pricing signage.
  • Managing inventory entry into retail system and maintaining a clean and consistent retail inventory.
  • Maintain proper inventory levels, ensure stocking.
  • Assist with watering and merchandising when not helping customers.
  • Coordinate and facilitate duties and production as needed.
  • Must be able to move 35lbs.

Work with general manager on the following:
  • Developing and putting into place promotions centered on holiday sales and weekly sales cycles.
  • Seek ways to better promote the store, the product lines and service within the store.
  • Maintain proper inventory levels, ensure stocking, implement purchasing plans and maintain contact with suppliers to ensure maximum efficiency in meeting sales goals.
  • Ordering, receiving, price changes, and handling damaged products.
  • Scheduling of staff hours.

Required Experience and Skills:
  • Plant knowledge (house plants, annuals, perennials, tropicals, natives, trees, shrubs)
  • Experience with Social Media Platforms (Facebook, Insta, TikTok, etc.) and running campaigns or creating curated content.
  • Management experience of retail crews or staff.
  • Strong organization capacity and self-directed nature.
  • Familiarity with Square POS a bonus.
