Grocery shelves will be stocked, faced, fronted, cleaned and rotated by a self-starter who notices what needs to be done. At the same time, this individual is a coachable team player, who completes tasks set up by her/his manager. When something is out of place (shelf tags missing, shelves dirty or sticky, back room needing a clean-up for example) an excellent Grocery Stocker will tell the Manager and be on top of fixing the problem, if possible. It's important in a fast-moving department like Grocery for the team to feel that all members are putting in their best; excellent Overnight Stockers pay attention to the mood of the team and strive for cooperation, an upbeat attitude, getting to work on time, and putting a full, energized shift.
