Job description

Are you an experienced Pulp & Paper Industry professional looking for a career change into sales?

The Product Sales Manager (PSM) for Stock Prep Solutions will focus on pulp and paper wear parts (Screens, Cleaners, and Refiner Segments), improvement projects, field services, and daily spare parts. This is a highly visible position within the company, critical to the advancement and growth of the organization.


The PSM has the following resources available for this role:

The responsibility of the Product Sales Manager is to maintain the current business and grow market share. That breaks down to two major roles:

  • Proactive - With regular visits and communication, know the customer base, the key decision makers for Fiber Process Parts and assure that the customer is in best product and that Valmet is meeting all their needs. Develop a sales plan to grow market share and solidify existing share. When needed, understand the needs and wants of the customer and process conditions to provide a product that will meet their needs. Propose and monitor trials in order to prove Valmet can provide a better solution than the competitor.
  • Reactive - Work closely with customers to deliver a higher level of service and responsiveness to their needs than the competition. Understand competitive threats and provide strategies to maintain the business. Provide key process data required for application engineers to propose recommendations for optimization as mill needs change.

Expectations

To be successful in this role, you should have a technical degree, preferably in Paper Science, Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering. You should also have experience in the Pulp & Paper Mill, and/or Mechanical Pulp Mill. Co-Op and Internships will be considered as experience. As you'll be working closely with our customers within a region, you'll spend part of your time traveling (up to 70% travel).

Principales responsabilites

Le Gestionnaire des ventes de produits est responsable du maintien des activites existantes et de l'augmentation de la part de marche. Son role se divise en deux volets principaux :

Approche proactive

Grace a des visites regulieres et a une communication continue, developper une connaissance approfondie de la clientele et des principaux decideurs lies aux composants de procede des fibres. S'assurer que les clients utilisent les produits les mieux adaptes a leurs besoins et que Valmet repond efficacement a leurs attentes.

  • Elaborer un plan de vente visant a accroitre la part de marche et a consolider les activites existantes;
  • Comprendre les besoins des clients ainsi que les conditions de procede afin de proposer les solutions les plus appropriees;
  • Recommander et superviser des essais afin de demontrer que Valmet peut offrir une meilleure solution que la concurrence.

Approche reactive

Travailler en etroite collaboration avec les clients afin de leur fournir un niveau de service et de reactivite superieur a celui de la concurrence.

  • Comprendre les menaces concurrentielles et elaborer des strategies pour preserver les activites existantes;
  • Fournir les donnees de procede essentielles aux ingenieurs d'application afin qu'ils puissent formuler des recommandations d'optimisation adaptees a l'evolution des besoins des usines.
Profil recherche

Pour reussir dans ce poste, vous devez posseder :

  • Un diplome technique, idealement en sciences du papier, en genie chimique ou en genie mecanique;
  • Une experience dans une usine de pates et papiers et/ou dans une usine de pate mecanique;
  • Les stages cooperatifs (Co-op) et les stages professionnels seront consideres comme une experience pertinente.

Comme vous travaillerez etroitement avec les clients de votre territoire, ce poste exige des deplacements frequents pouvant representer jusqu'a 70 % du temps.
