Job description

Sterile Processing Technician

Central Sterile Processing Department

Full-Time position available

Job Summary:

The sterile processing technicians provide services to all areas of the surgical service areas and any other departments by decontaminating, packaging and sterilizing instruments, linens, and supplies. The technician will also assemble surgeon-specific case carts and manage supply par levels in surgery, endo, and cysto.

Education Requirements:

A high school diploma or GED is required.

Certification/Licensure Requirements:

Hospital sterile processing or surgical tech certification is preferred.

Experience/Qualifications/Skills:

One year's experience in healthcare surgical services is preferred. On the job training will be provided if needed.

Language/Communication Skills:

English is required. Multilingual capabilities enhance the ability to perform this job. Must have the ability to speak effectively and professionally to all staff, management, and all outside individuals at all levels, from elementary to professional.

Reasoning Ability:

Must have the ability to apply non-judgmental reasoning capabilities whenever necessary when dealing with patients, visitors, and staff. Critical thinking and multitasking skills are a must. Must have reasonable reflective thinking focused on deciding what to believe or do.
