A VA hospital facility in Houston, Texas is seeking experienced Sterile Processing Technicians for a 6-month contract assignment. Multiple positions are available for qualified candidates who are flexible and willing to work a variety of shifts based on facility needs.

About the Company:

A leading healthcare staffing organization is seeking qualified Sterile Processing Technicians to support sterile processing operations at a major federal medical facility in Houston, Texas. The facility supports a wide range of surgical and specialty departments and maintains sterile processing operations 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Position Summary:

Sterile Processing Technicians are responsible for the cleaning, decontamination, inspection, assembly, sterilization, preparation, and distribution of surgical instruments and reusable medical equipment. This position supports instrumentation used throughout operating rooms and multiple specialty clinical departments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clean, decontaminate, inspect, assemble, sterilize, and prepare surgical instruments and reusable medical equipment.
  • Support sterile processing needs for operating rooms and specialty departments, including Urology, ENT, Cardiology, Pulmonary, Anesthesia, and other clinical areas.
  • Follow established infection prevention, sterilization, quality assurance, and equipment reprocessing procedures.
  • Maintain proper handling, tracking, storage, and distribution of sterile instruments and equipment.
  • Work closely with sterile processing and clinical teams to ensure instruments and equipment are properly prepared and available when needed.

Schedule:

  • Full-time, up to 40 hours per week.
  • Facility operations run Sunday through Saturday.
  • Multiple day, evening, and overnight shifts are available.
  • Candidates must be flexible and willing to work assigned shifts based on facility coverage needs.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Previous experience in sterile processing, medical supply processing, or surgical instrumentation reprocessing.
  • Knowledge of cleaning, decontamination, sterilization, and proper handling of reusable medical equipment.
  • Ability to follow strict infection-control, safety, and sterile processing procedures.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States as a U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder.
  • Must successfully complete required federal background investigation, credentialing, and onboarding requirements.
