Job description

The Sterile Processing Tech plays a critical role in the central sterile processing department by ensuring the safe and effective sterilization of medical instruments used by surgical teams. Reporting directly to the Sterile Processing Manager, this position focuses on maintaining high standards of infection control and equipment readiness during day shifts, supporting quality patient care through meticulous processing and team collaboration.

13-26 Week Contract with the option to go perm

Hours: Days - 6am-230pm

Weekends - Yes

Start Date: ASAP

Responsibilities

  • Perform instrument sterilization according to established protocols
  • Conduct quality control checks to ensure sterilization efficacy
  • Manage inventory to maintain adequate supply levels
  • Maintain and troubleshoot sterilization equipment
  • Implement infection control and safety procedures consistently
  • Document sterilization processes and maintain compliance records
  • Collaborate effectively with surgical teams and other clinical staff
  • Adhere to regulatory compliance and safety standards

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years experience in sterile processing
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST), BLS, or CBSPD certification preferred
