Sterile Processing Technician (SPT) & EKG Instructors

TSC Career Institute is actively seeking qualified Sterile Processing Technician (SPT) and Electrocardiogram Technician (EKG) instructors to join our growing healthcare education team. We are ALSO accepting applications for Medical Assistant (MA), Phlebotomy Technician, Surgical Technology, and Patient Care Technician (PCT) instructors.

Position Summary

The Instructor is responsible for providing classroom, laboratory, and clinical instruction while preparing students for successful entry-level careers in healthcare. The ideal candidate is passionate about teaching, possesses strong clinical experience, and is committed to student success.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging classroom and hands-on laboratory instruction.
  • Teach program curriculum and ensure students achieve required competencies.
  • Evaluate student performance through examinations, skills check-offs, assignments, and clinical evaluations.
  • Maintain accurate attendance, grading, and student progress records.
  • Provide academic coaching, remediation, and support to students.
  • Foster a positive, professional, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Participate in faculty meetings, trainings, and institutional activities.
  • Ensure compliance with school policies, accreditation standards, and healthcare industry regulations.

Clinical and Externship Responsibilities

  • Supervise and evaluate students during clinical and externship experiences.
  • Travel to clinical sites to observe student performance and complete evaluations.
  • Serve as a liaison between the school and clinical partners.
  • Ensure students comply with facility policies, professional standards, and patient safety practices.
  • Complete all required clinical documentation and reports.

Qualifications

Sterile Processing Technician Instructor

  • Current CRCST, CSPDT, or equivalent credential preferred.
  • Minimum of two years of recent sterile processing experience.
  • Knowledge of sterilization procedures, infection prevention, surgical instrumentation, decontamination, and quality assurance practices.

EKG Instructor

  • Current EKG Technician certification or related healthcare credential preferred.
  • Minimum of two years of recent experience performing EKG procedures and cardiac monitoring.
  • Knowledge of cardiac anatomy, rhythm interpretation, telemetry, and diagnostic testing.
