The Supervisor, Central Sterile Processing supervises and directs the decontamination, cleaning, assembling, packaging, scanning, sterilization, storage, and distribution of reusable surgical instrumentation and equipment. The Supervisor, Central Sterile Processing oversees staffing and provides direction and support to department staff to ensure compliance with applicable rules and regulations.
CORE JOB FUNCTIONS
1. Ensures the development of staff by providing orientation and continuing education programs.
2. Assists in the development and implementation of departmental policies and procedures.
3. Provides for the maintenance of necessary supplies and equipment.
4. Assists in achieving compliance with accrediting and licensing requirements.
5. Serves as a liaison with the operating room and other departments.
6. Recommends quality and performance improvement initiatives.
7. Demonstrates knowledge of and follows departmental and medical center policies and procedures. 8. Establishes and continuously assesses the effectiveness of the internal controls within the unit and compliance with University policies and procedures. Ensures employees are trained in controls within the function and on University policy and procedures.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent/relevant experience, certification or license
Certification and Licensing: Refer to department description for applicable certification requirements
Experience: Minimum 3 years of relevant experience required

- Performance Management: Ability to set performance goals, provide feedback, conduct evaluations, and effectively delegate tasks.
- Training & Development: Providing employee training and motivation to enhance skills.
