Job description

Overview

Full Time Position

7:00am - 3:30pm

This position is responsible for the overall adherence to regulatory standards, process improvement, management activities, and economic operation of Sterile Processing across multiple sites within the healthcare system. The Director will direct, plan, and manage the operations and resources of Sterile Processing. This position will work closely with both internal and external customers such as, the Operating Room to ensure consistency, sterility/disinfection assurance, and increase operational efficiency and employee satisfaction. The Director promotes the development of a motivated and cohesive team and supports educational strategies to enhance staff knowledge with respect to processing practices and service delivery.


Qualifications

Required Education: Associate's degree. Specific course work: In lieu of an Associate's degree, 10 years of leadership experience (supervisor or above) in Sterile Processing may be accepted.

Preferred Education: Bachelor's degree

Required Licensure/Certifications: CRCST- Certified Registered Central Sterilization Technician -OR- Licensed to practice nursing in the state of Florida

Preferred Licensure/Certifications: N/A

Required Experience: 3-5 years: Experienced in TJC standards for sterile processing, quality improvement programs, provision of sterile reusable supplies, assembly of surgical instrument trays, reusable linen packs and patient care equipment to patient care areas or comparable experience in an acute care setting.

Supervision: Supervisory responsibility of approximately 25 employees

Budgetary Responsibility: Responsible for annual budget of $2,000,000.00
