  • We are hiring immediately for full time and part time LAUNDRY SERVICE SENIOR positions.
  • Location: Nemours Alfred I. DuPont - 1600 Rockland Road, Wilmington, DE 19803. Note: online applications accepted only.

Job Summary

DEFINITION: Properly and accurately, pack, inspect and organize clean linen ensuring our customer receives their order with high quality and presentation.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

1.    Ability to follow oral and written instructions and perform mathematical calculations.
2.    Ability to perform duties requiring walking, kneeling, pushing, pulling and lifting at least 50 pounds.
3.    Demonstrates commitment to the Partners-In-Caring Process in all interactions and in performing all job duties. Performs duties in a manner to promote quality patient care and customer service/satisfaction.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
    Prepare and process linen: feeding, receiving, sorting, folding, wrapping and/or stacking; inspect linens identifying linens requiring repair or reprocessing; load processed linens into baskets, racks and the conveyor ensuring availability and appropriate storage of processed linen.
    Orders linen
    Build clean, neat, organized carts to set standard par level
    Loads/unloads trucks
    Deliver clean linen to the different departments within the hospitals.
    Operates Cart Sterilizer
    Report machinery problems immediately to management
    Ensures safe care to patients adhering to policies, procedures, and standards, within budgetary specifications, including time management, supply management, productivity, and accuracy of practice
    Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education, skills competency, supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serves as preceptor, mentor, and resource to less experienced staff.
    Follow Safety Procedures
    All duties assigned.

SKILLS: One to two years as laundry, linen worker or service worker preferred.  Ability to communicate in English with hospital staff, patients, co-workers, and supervisors.
