Hiring Range

$20.40 - $26.55/Hourly Actual pay is determined based on job-related factors such as relevant experience, education, credentials, skills, internal equity, and business needs.


Overview
Responsible for all aspects of instrument preparation, sterilization/disinfection procedures for surgical procedure environment to ensure optimum care to all patients. Functions in Preceptor role for Sterile Processing Aides. Has working knowledge of regulatory requirements and can apply critical thinking skills to situation at hand for resolution. Expected to float to other RHS facilities for like competencies.
What you will do

  • Responsible for maintaining knowledge and applying it to instrument/equipment/room decontamination and sterilization process that meets AORN, AMMI, ISSHAM, and CDC standards.
  • Provides a safe, efficient and supportive environment for the patient and self by using appropriate protective equipment, body mechanics, and follows safety guidelines and procedures. Identifies and acts to resolve any variance or suspected noncompliance to management.
  • Assists in the turnover of the procedure room or operating room to include cleaning/disinfecting, trash/linen removal and instrument cleaning.
  • Responsible for maintaining and supporting production and assembly of instruments and trays, to include ability to align priorities with needs of patient and the Operating Room.
  • Demonstrates intermediate to advanced technical knowledge/clinical competencies in sterile processing as evidenced by the ability to assume a role in customer service as needed.
  • Responsible for accurate and complete all sterile documentation and paperwork associated with sterilization logs.

Qualifications
Education
  • Program Graduate, Sterile Processing (Preferred)

Experience
  • 1 year Sterile processing experience (Preferred)

Licenses and Certifications
  • Certified Board Sterile Processing Distribution - The Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution Inc CSPDT from CBSPD Upon Hire(Required) or
  • Certified Instrument Specialist (CIS) - International Association of Healthcare Central Service Material Management - IAHCSMM CIS from HSPA (formerly IAHCSMM) Upon Hire(Required) or
  • Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) - International Association of Healthcare Central Service Material Management - IAHCSMM CRCST from HSPA (formerly IAHCSMM) Upon Hire(Required) or
  • Certified Endoscope Reprocessor - International Association of Healthcare Central Service Material Management - IAHCSMM CER from HSPA (formerly IAHCSMM) Upon Hire(Required)
