Location: Chico
Assignment Type: Contract
Duration: 13 Weeks
Start Date: May 6, 2026
Open Positions: 4
Shift: PM Shift (1:00 PM – 9:30 PM), 8-hour shifts with varied days off
Guaranteed Hours: 40 per week
EMR System: Epic


Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Sterile Processing Technician to join a dynamic healthcare team in a Level II trauma facility. This role is critical in ensuring the proper decontamination, sterilization, and distribution of surgical instruments and medical equipment to support patient care.


Key Responsibilities
  • Perform decontamination, cleaning, assembly, sterilization, and distribution of surgical instruments and equipment
  • Ensure compliance with infection control standards and sterilization protocols
  • Maintain accurate documentation and tracking of instruments using facility systems
  • Inspect instruments for cleanliness and functionality prior to sterilization
  • Collaborate with surgical and clinical teams to meet procedural needs
  • Adhere to safety and quality standards in a fast-paced environment

Minimum Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Sterile Processing Technician
  • Current BLS/CPR certification required
  • Certification through one of the following preferred:
    • Certified Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD)
    • Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) or equivalent
  • Active state license (if applicable)
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently

Facility Details
  • Mid-sized hospital with 150–500 beds
  • Level II Trauma Center
  • Utilizes Epic EMR system

Additional Information
  • Facility accepts only W-2 employees from agencies (no independent contractors)
  • Floating may be required based on facility needs
  • No holiday coverage required
