Essential Functions
- Oversees and provides daily work direction to Sterile Processing Technicians responsible for inspecting, disinfecting, assembling, processing and distributing patient care instruments, equipment and supplies.
- Assist with staff assignments to maintain adequate workflow to meet changing needs on a daily basis.
- Assist supervisor with performance evaluations, goal setting, and performance improvement. Acts as a role model and resource to peers and provides mentoring and support to subordinate staff to ensure effectiveness and efficiency.
- Performs the function of a Sterile Processing Technician including inspecting, disinfecting, assembling, processing and distributing patient care instruments, equipment, an supplies.
- Accurately differentiates between instruments functionality and its specialty. Monitors performance of sterilizers, sonic, utensil washers and other equipment and fills out repair requisitions as necessary.
Qualifications
- Required High School Diploma or equivalent
- 3 years of relevant experience sterile processing technician experience or related sterile processing Preferred
- CRT-Sterile Processing Distribution Tech (CSPDT) - CBSPD Certification Board for Sterile Processing & Distribution Upon Hire required Or
- CRT-Registered Central Services Technician, Certified (CRCST) - HSPA Healthcare Sterile Processing Association Upon Hire required And
- CRT-At least one License and/or Certification in area of specialty - UNKNOWN Unknown Certified Instrument Specialist (CIS)Certified Endoscope Reprocessor (CER)Certified Healthcare Leader (CHL)
