Pharmacy Technician II

Among the Franciscan team, the Pharmacy Technician II assists the Pharmacists in a variety of technical duties related to the filling of medication orders or IV Admixtures. This position participates in technical and administrative functions related to the pharmacy.

2PM - 10:30PM. Every other weekend.

What You Can Expect

  • Restocking and checking of Pyxis machines and nursing units, including onsite and offsite units.
  • Verify integrity of medications in Pyxis machines/floor stock areas.
  • Make routine deliveries of filled medication orders and pick up new orders to be filled.
  • Package and maintain records of medications not prepackaged.
  • Assist as a "second check" in the accuracy of the order entry process.
  • Prepare and deliver intravenous piggyback admixtures.

Qualifications

  • Required High School Diploma/GED
  • 1 year Sterile Products Preferred
  • 1 year Sterile Compounding Preferred
  • 1 year Pharmaceutical/Pharmacology Preferred
  • Pharmacy Tech, State Cert (PHT) - State Licensing Board
  • Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) Certification - Pharmacy Technician Certification Board PTCB or ExCPT certification required for those with pharmacy tech license. N/A if intern
  • Exam for the Certification of Pharmacy Technicians (ExCPT) - National Healthcareer Association (NHA) PTCB or ExCPT certification required for those with pharmacy tech license. N/A if intern
  • Pharmacy Intern Permit (PHINTERN) - State Licensing Board
