Position Overview

Steps to Heal Psychological Services is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) for a full-time position focused on providing essential mental health services. Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct assessments to evaluate the severity, frequency, and duration of mood disorder symptoms in clients, establishing a comprehensive understanding of their needs.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with clients, ensuring that goals align with their personal preferences and desired outcomes.
  • Implement evidence-based therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to facilitate effective treatment.
  • Educate clients and their families about mood disorders, treatment options, and effective self-care strategies to encourage recovery and resilience.
  • Monitor and document client progress, making necessary adjustments to treatment plans based on observed outcomes and feedback.
  • Collaborate with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to provide integrated care and ensure comprehensive support for clients.
  • Stay informed about the latest research and advancements in mood disorder treatment to enhance therapeutic approaches.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential client records, adhering to legal and ethical standards.
  • Participate in case consultations, team meetings, and professional development activities to share knowledge and improve service delivery.
  • Advocate for clients' mental health needs to reduce stigma and ensure they receive appropriate support.
Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will primarily work with clients experiencing mood disorders such as depression, bipolar disorder, and generalized anxiety disorder. Our diverse client base includes individuals from various socioeconomic backgrounds, including vulnerable populations like the homeless, refugees, and victims of domestic abuse. The aim is to provide a safe space where healing is encouraged and mental wellness is prioritized.

Qualifications
  • A current and active state license as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) is required.
  • A Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or a closely related field is mandatory.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in building trusting therapeutic relationships through strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Possess a nonjudgmental attitude and empathy towards clients' experiences, enabling open and honest discussions.
