Position Overview

Steps to Heal Psychological Services is seeking a dedicated and experienced Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) to join our team in New Rochelle, New York. Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations to assess the intensity and duration of clients' mood disorder symptoms, ensuring a thorough understanding of their unique circumstances.
  • Collaborate with clients to craft personalized treatment plans that address their specific needs, goals, and preferences, utilizing a client-centered approach.
  • Implement evidence-based therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to effectively manage symptoms and improve functional outcomes.
  • Provide psychoeducation to clients and their families regarding mood disorders, treatment options, and self-care strategies to enhance understanding and engagement in the therapeutic process.
  • Monitor client progress regularly, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to respond to shifting client needs and to promote optimal therapeutic outcomes.
  • Engage with interdisciplinary teams, including psychiatrists and other health professionals, to coordinate comprehensive care for clients.
  • Stay informed about the latest research and advancements in the field of mood disorders to apply best practices in your therapeutic interventions.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential client documentation in compliance with legal and ethical standards, ensuring privacy and data security.
  • Participate actively in case consultations, staff meetings, and professional development workshops to enhance your skills and contribute to team initiatives.
  • Advocate for clients and promote mental health awareness, tackling stigmas associated with mental health conditions and ensuring clients receive the support they deserve.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be individuals facing various mood disorders, including but not limited to depression, bipolar disorder, and anxiety. You will have the chance to work with a diverse clientele, including vulnerable populations such as the homeless, refugees, and survivors of domestic violence, making a substantial impact on their mental health journey.

Qualifications
  • A current and active state license as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) is required.
  • A Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or related field is essential for this role.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to establish a secure, trusting relationship with clients.
  • A compassionate approach, with empathy and a nonjudgmental attitude towards clients' experiences and challenges.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills to efficiently manage caseloads and administrative tasks.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience working with diverse populations and familiarity with community health service delivery is a plus.
  • Proficiency in various therapeutic modalities and a keen understanding of evidence-based practices in mental health.
  • Past involvement in team-based care settings and interdisciplinary collaboration will be beneficial.
Compensation and Benefits
  • Annual salary ranging from USD 70,000 to 90,000, depending on qualifications and experience.
