Maintenance personnel perform work involving the skills to keep machines, mechanical equipment, or the structure of a building in repair. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Duties/Responsibilities
  • Performing routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed.
  • Replacing lightbulbs and other electrical work.
  • Plumbing (sinks , toilets, etc).
  • Minor HVAC repair and maintenance.
  • Performs electrical maintenance and repairs to equipment.
  • Performs center wide basic repair in custodial, roads, and grounds.
  • Operates and maintains a variety of maintenance associated power tools.
  • Collects and disposes of all litter, trash and debris on grounds, streets and parking lots.
  • Assists other maintenance staff with necessary maintenance and repairs of Center buildings.
  • Performs preventative maintenance and repairs to associated equipment.
  • Performs limited repairs of buildings and associated equipment, fixtures, and infrastructure.
  • Monitor supply levels of products needed to perform janitorial tasks.
  • Maintains professional appearance.
  • Other tasks as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction or repair of buildings or other structures.
  • The ability to exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects.
  • The ability to quickly move your hand, your hand together with your arm, or your two hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects.
  • Must have ample dexterity to bend, reach, stretch, sit, stand, type, and lift up to 30 pounds.

Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
  • Must be able to pass a background check, drug screening, and Motor Vehicle Report.
