Maintenance personnel perform work involving the skills to keep machines, mechanical equipment, or the structure of a building in repair. Duties/Responsibilities
- Performing routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed.
- Replacing lightbulbs and other electrical work.
- Plumbing (sinks , toilets, etc).
- Minor HVAC repair and maintenance.
- Performs electrical maintenance and repairs to equipment.
- Performs center wide basic repair in custodial, roads, and grounds.
- Operates and maintains a variety of maintenance associated power tools.
- Collects and disposes of all litter, trash and debris on grounds, streets and parking lots.
- Assists other maintenance staff with necessary maintenance and repairs of Center buildings.
- Performs preventative maintenance and repairs to associated equipment.
- Performs limited repairs of buildings and associated equipment, fixtures, and infrastructure.
- Monitor supply levels of products needed to perform janitorial tasks.
- Maintains professional appearance.
- Other tasks as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions.
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
- Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction or repair of buildings or other structures.
- The ability to exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects.
- The ability to quickly move your hand, your hand together with your arm, or your two hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects.
- Must have ample dexterity to bend, reach, stretch, sit, stand, type, and lift up to 30 pounds.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
- Must be able to pass a background check, drug screening, and Motor Vehicle Report.
