Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking an Electromechanical Engineer or Principal Electromechanical Engineer to join our team. This position can be based out of Linthicum MD, Fairfax VA, or Morrisville NC.

The selected candidate for this role will bring a strong background in computer hardware design and integration, with a focus on understanding how changes in requirements impact hardware designs. This role will involve working on systems that utilize diverse electrical signals including power, RF, and fiber optics.

A successful candidate will have experience that includes hardware design, integration, and functionality verification.

The selected candidate will be someone who can successfully:

  • Collaborate on the design and integration of hardware systems ensuring adherence to changing requirements and specifications.

  • Finalize/update drawings, support equipment moves, rack and stack of equipment and integration of compute equipment into a shelter for deployment.

  • Experience/interest in power/cooling or site construction and traveling to support installation and configuration events would be a plus.

  • CONUS and OCONUS travel possible.

  • Participate in system-level testing and verification processes, ensuring hardware meets all specified requirements and standards.

  • Conduct troubleshooting and modifications on existing hardware designs to enhance performance and reliability.

  • Utilize clear technical writing to document design alterations, prepare status reports, and develop design specifications and validation plans.

  • Maintain a proactive attitude in meetings with cross-functional teams, demonstrating initiative and professionalism while engaging with colleagues and stakeholders.

  • Position may require occasional travel to support field activities and hardware deployment.

Basic Qualifications

  • Electromechanical Engineer: Bachelor's degree in a STEM field with 2+ years of relevant experience, OR Master's degree in a STEM field.

  • Principal Electromechanical Engineer: Bachelor's degree in a STEM field with 5+ years of relevant experience, OR Master's degree in a STEM field with 3+ years of relevant experience is required.

  • Active TS/SCI clearance required at the time of application.

  • Experience with hardware design and integration processes.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of the impacts of requirement changes on hardware design.

  • Familiarity with power, RF, and fiber electrical signal principles and applications.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with complex system architectures and hardware validation procedures.

  • Knowledge of electronic components and their applications in communication systems.

  • Previous experience in a fast-paced engineering environment with a focus on field support operations is desirable.

Primary Level Salary Range: $87,600.00 - $137,600.00Secondary Level Salary Range: $108,800.00 - $171,000.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
