Job description

We are searching for a skilled and meticulous Laboratory Automobile Mechanic to join our team at our world-class proving grounds facility.
In this role, you will:
  • Play a vital role in supporting the testing and evaluation of vehicles and components
  • Prepare tests according to established procedures
  • Conduct diagnostic testing and troubleshooting of issues using specialized tools and equipment

The Temporary Test and Development Mechanic - Safety Testing Mechanic will:
  • Use CAN diagnostic tools (CDA) to check-in vehicles and identify issues and flash software prior to testing
  • Perform repairs and modifications to vehicles as needed to address testing needs
  • Conduct tire mounting, balancing, and road force testing
  • Assist engineers with data acquisition and analysis during testing
  • Document test procedures, findings, and repairs in a clear and concise manner
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety protocols
  • Collaborate effectively with engineers, technicians, and other team members

Basic Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum TWO (2) years of auto service experience required
  • Strong overall vehicle knowledge and mechanical skills
  • Valid driver's license with no physical restrictions
  • Basic computer skills
  • Effective communication skills
  • Great attitude and punctuality
  • Initiative-taking and strong work ethic required
  • Able to work in a team environment
  • Basic fabrication experience

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Strong background in fabrication
  • Minimum THREE (3) years auto dealership service experience
  • Experience with Chrysler Diagnostic Application
